The Next9Up Wellness Program was designed under the premise of Body – Mind – Soul – Spirit Athletics and Wellness.

In order to be a strong athlete, you must be balanced in all aspects of your life. When you are not balanced, you are prone to injury, unhealthy lifestyle, habits that can harm your body and mind, and you will not compete at your best level.

You can follow the Next9Up website heading for your athletic training under Teammates & Coaches. On this Wellness tab, you will find other ways to help you in preparation mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Next9Up is excited to welcome Sara Vatore with Peak Performance to our facility for an amazing workshop for our athletes and parents. She combines cutting-edge neuroscience, somatics and mindset training to help athletes overcome fears, blocks and injuries, develop mental toughness and perform to their fullest potential.

This workshop is for athletes, boys and girls aged 8 and up, and divided out by age, also including a separate workshop for parents as well.

FOR ATHLETES:

Overcome Negative Thinking and Doubts: An Intro to Peak Performance Techniques

This workshop is designed to help you understand how your mind and body work together to impact your performance. We will examine what athletes commonly do that mentally prevents them from achieving peak performance, what happens physiologically when our body is under pressure, and learn what to do to maximize our potential so you can execute when it counts the most.

This workshop is also for you if you deal with persistent negative thinking and self doubts, wish you felt more confident, want your competition and practice performance to be more consistent, get frustrated at yourself for making mistakes, or want to understand why your effort doesn’t match your current performance.

FOR PARENTS:

Understanding Your Athletes’ Fear and Blocks and How to Best Support Them

  • Help your athlete feel and perform like a winner

  • Recognize the performance disrupting mistakes well-meaning parents make and how to avoid them

  • Know what to say on the car ride to and home from meets

  • Build self esteem and confidence in your child

  • Know what your role is on the parent-athlete-coach team and how to play it to the best of your ability

  • Understand the principles of peak performance to ensure your child stays happy and performs to their potential

Parents and Children come together to the workshop and separate for their sessions. The workshop looks like this:

Friday, February 28th

Parent Session: 4-4:45pm While you are in your session, your kids will hit in cages and use HitTrax

Youth 12+ Session: 4:50 - 5:50pm. While 12+ year olds are in this session, kids 11 and under and parents will have pizza (those kids will be hungry after hitting!)

Youth 8-11 Session: 5:55 – 6:40 pm. While 8-11 year olds are in this session, the older kids will have pizza and chill to Sandlot if they are waiting for a younger sibling, or if not they can eat and leave, armed with their knowledge!

This is an amazing workshop for parents to learn how to help their kiddos, and for athletes to win the war they have going on inside – don’t miss the opportunity to learn! This is right up there with perfecting your stance for hitting.
